Program (EMTP)". (In the problem of transporting electrical energy a long-distance transmission line has a very high power transfer capacity if the voltage along the
line is effectively controlled and maintained at its nominal value. In this work the author presents a general method of calculation for any
number of inductors of different reactive power and installed at any position along the line. The proposed approach is evidenced by numerical
calculations on a 1200 km long line and considering two general problems (determining the voltage distribution along the line by giving in
advance the powers and positions of the shunt inductors and calculating the power of the inductors whose positions are already determined for a
voltage distribution given in advance). The results obtained according to this approach show that a voltage distribution is maintained, at every
point of the line, in accordance with the international requirements relating to the variation of the voltage for very high voltage networks and are
in perfect concordance with simulation results using ATP-EMTP software.)
