Abstract: This paper presents a fuzzy logic control (FLC) combined with a vector control designed for an autonomous induction generator
driven by a variable speed wind turbine in standalone system. Due to the significant fluctuations of the wind, a flywheel energy
storage system is associated to improve the quality of the electric power delivered by the wind. The excitation of the induction
generator is obtained using PWM inverter/rectifier connected to a single capacitor on the dc side. The model used here takes the
saturation effect into account, by means of a variable inductance. Performance analyses of the studied system will be presented,
where the main control objective is to regulate the dc bus voltage at a constant value dealing with the unbalance between the
generated and required power.
