Paper title: MODELING AND FAULT DETECTION OF FIVE-PHASE SYNCHRONOUS GENERATOR UNDER OPEN-PHASE FAULT MODE

Abstract:

Based on a five-phase synchronous generator with 3-order harmonic back EMF, dynamic models of open-phase faults in generator-load system are established. The assumed faults are classified into several categories according to the faulty phases topologies and a general model for each category is established. The most important advantage of the general state space model is that it is compatible to any possible condition in the same category and can be extended to any n-phase system. At the end of this paper, a fault detection method is introduced. Simulation result proves that this method can well detect the assumed faults.
