In a previous paper, the author has presented a new approach to the construction of the major hysteresis loop by approximating the major branches by straight-line segments and arcs of circle. Any minor curve is obtained by the distortion of the major curve branches, under certain conditions. The distortion is achieved by using a formula depending on three parameters. The scope of the paper is to present a method by which the parameters are determined so that such a curve fits as well as possible one or several given curves. The method is based on the minimization of a certain function. Also, several applications are presented.
