Abstract:

The device and procedure, described in this paper, allow the determination of the B-H static relationship, both in situ and for ferromagnetic samples, which are inserted in the lower yoke of this device. The operating principle of the device is similar to that of the Wheatstone bridge, aiming to obtain a null magnetic flux through the device’s median yoke, for a pair of currents corresponding to the coils, placed in the magnetic circuit’s windows. The computation of the B-H relationship requires a fast computation of the magnetic field inverse problem, in which the linear piecewise form of this relationship is determined, corresponding to some pairs of currents, for which the median magnetic flux is null. The treatment of the B-H relationship nonlinearity is performed, using the polarization fixed point method (PFPM), and the field, at each iteration, is determined using Green function method. In order to test the procedure, a sample of a known B-H relationship is chosen and, through computation, the pairs of coil currents, for which the median magnetic flux is null, is determined. This sequence of current pairs plays the role of the currents, measured on a real device. Then, starting from this pairs, the B-H relationship is determined.
