Paper title: NUMERICAL MODELING APPROACHES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF SQUIRREL-CAGE INDUCTION MOTOR

Author(s): CRISTINA MIHAELA GHEORGHE, LEONARD MARIUS MELCESCU, TIBERIU TUDORACHE, EMIL MIHAI,

Abstract:

This paper presents a comparative analysis in terms of results accuracy and computational effort of two numerical models used for the 2D finite element analysis of the three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor: the magnetoharmonic model and the transient magnetic model. The operating characteristics of an induction machine obtained by these models are presented in comparison with the experimental ones. The limitations and applicability of each numerical model are detailed and discussed.
