Abstract:

A new algorithm which allows transforming a dual band artificial transmission line into a quad band one is presented in this paper. The analytical results are validated by simulation and the novel transmission lines are used to implement a quad band Wilkinson power divider for mobile communications. The performances of the novel device prove to be very good at all four frequencies: 1.42 GHz, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 8.44 GHz. The relative bandwidth for the main transmission parameters is quite large, meanwhile the dimensions of the power divider are minimized.
