Paper title: ULTRASOUND IMAGES CONDITIONING
Author(s): CRISTINA STOLOJESCU-CRISAN, ALEXANDRU ISAR,
Abstract: The main goal of this paper is the development and simulation of conditioning methods:
denoising and inpainting for ultrasound images. Ultrasound images acquisition is inherently
affected by two impairments: the presence of a multiplicative noise called speckle
which requires the use of denoising algorithms and the existence of missing pixels which
can be solved by inpainting algorithms. In this paper, the performance of conditioning
systems built by associating five different spatial filters, Lee, Kuan, Frost, Median, and
Wiener, representing denoising methods, with an exemplar based inpainting algorithm
are evaluated.
