Paper title: ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF A VIBRATION ENERGY HARVESTER USING PERMANENT MAGNETS
Author(s): RADU OLARU, ROBERT GHERCĂ, CAMELIA PETRESCU,
Abstract: The paper describes the design and optimization of a vibration-to-electric energy
harvester based on a magnetic structure consisting of a levitated moving magnet and
two fixed magnets. The analysis and design are based on theory, simulation and
experiment, being finalized by the construction and testing of an energy harvester final
model. The experimental results show that the harvester can generate 5.06 mW at an
input acceleration of 0.5g and 19.18 mW at an input acceleration of 1g. The
corresponding power densities are 337.3 μW/cm3 and 1278.6 μW/cm3, respectively.
The harvester can charge a storage battery of 2.4 V in 25 minutes by means of a diode
bridge rectifier.
