Paper title: ANALYSIS OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC LEVITATION USING 3D EDDY-CURRENT INTEGRAL EQUATION

Author(s): GEORGE-MARIAN VASILESCU, MIHAI MARICARU,

Abstract:

Predicting the motion of conducting bodies moving under the influence of the electromagnetic field in the quasistationary approximation involves solving an electromagnetic-mechanical coupled problem. In this paper we present an efficient method for computing the solution of such problems. The field problem is solved using the three-dimensional eddy-current integral equation that does not require meshing the air region and allows working with unbounded domains. The mechanical problem is solved by means of a velocity Verlet algorithm. The obtained numerical results are compared with the experimental data published in problem 28 of Compumag TEAM set of problems.
