Abstract:

A method for computing the motion of conducting bodies in electromagnetic field is presented. The field problem is a 3D eddy current problem and is solved by means of an integral method. The integral eddy current formulation requires only the discretization of the current sources domains and conducting bodies and contains no explicit velocity terms. The mechanical problem is solved by means of a predictor-corrector method. Both problems are coupled together in order to obtain the time evolution of the conducting body.
