Paper title: UNIDIMENSIONAL PHASE DOMAIN ADAPTIVE EQUALIZER

Author(s): SORIN POPESCU, LUCIAN IOAN,

Abstract:

The PSK is a (2D) modulation. So, the intersymbol interference (ISI) voltage error en = (rn–an) depends on the line signal level. But, the phase demodulation (PD) is entirely free of the signal level. As a one-dimensional (1D) solution we here included both the (ISI) and interchannel interference (ICI) effects into the phase error εn = (ϕn–Φnn) as unique, level free, parameter (1D) for the adaptive equalization. With this aim, we first generalized the equivalent low pass filter theorem (ELPFT). On this basis we found the phase and the envelope formulae for the asymmetric channel response to a rectangular phase signal. The instantaneous phase demodulation (IPD) idea works in this sense. Consequently we succeed in equalize the PSK signal as a 1D one. We here proposed the method for calculation of the so called pseudo gradient.
