Paper title: NUMERICAL MODELLING OF A CILIUM USING AN INTEGRAL EQUATION

Abstract:

The paper presents a fast and accurate method to model the magnetic behaviour of an artificial cilium. The method is based on Maxwell equations, formulated as integral equations for the magnetization. The domain of the cilium is divided in 1D finite elements, each element being uniformly magnetized along the cilium direction. Numerical results, as magnetic flux density, torque and force in each element of the cilium are presented for two test cases. The cilium is placed in an uniform magnetic field.
