A new envelope following algorithm, based on the envelope approximation with an exponential, is proposed. If the transient behavior of the circuit is exponential-like, this algorithm gives better results than those implemented in SPECTRE RF and PAN. Further work will be devoted to implement an algorithm based on this approach combined with that implemented in SPECTRE RF.
