Paper title: THE APPLICATION OF E3 CONCEPT TO FIXED INSTALLATIONS

Author(s): DAN CRISTIAN RUCINSCHI,

Abstract:

According to the new EMC Directive 2004/108/EC which applies starting from 20th July 2007, it is essential that fixed installations (including large machines and networks) comply with the directive's protection requirements in order to limit potential interference and to create a common electromagnetic environment in the European Union. Due to their specific features, fixed installations cannot be tested in laboratory. Consequently manufacturers should apply some new methods in order to assure the compliance of a fixed installation with the essential requirements of EMC Directive. One way to solve this problem is using the electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) concept, program and methods, which are for many years applied in military environment.
