Paper title: THE INFLUENCE OF THE MAGNETIC NON-LINEARITY ON THE MAGNETOSTATIC SHIELDS DESIGN

Author(s): LIVIU NEAMŢ, ALINA NEAMŢ, MIRCEA HORGOŞ,

Abstract:

The analytical magnetostatic shields design appears to be very simple and is based on the linearity of the magnetic material. The main problem begins with the real behavior of the material on different applied magnetic field. An impropriate choose of material can offer a high designed efficiency of the shield but a very poor real efficiency in applied field. The present paper analyses, using Finite element method, the efficiency of magnetostatic shields in terms of materials and applied magnetic field. Taking in mind that, generally, materials with the higher magnetic permeability have corresponding low saturation points some guidance in material choosing can be outlined.

Keywords: Magnetostatic shields, Magnetic non-linearity, Finite element method.
